Abdush Shakoor is a Bangladeshi writer. ==Biography== Shakoor was born on 25 February 1941 in the district Noakhali of Bangladesh. He did Kamil in Hadis from Dhaka Alia, Honours and master's in English literature from Dhaka University and MS in Economics from ISS, Holland. He taught English literature in Dhaka College and Rajshahi University before joining the Civil Service of Pakistan in 1967. He retired as Secretary to the Government of the Peoples' Republic of Bangladesh in 1998. He studies different subjects in different languages. He writes short stories, novels, plays, essays and treatise. He received Bangla Academy Award in 1979 and Amiyabhusan Puraskar in 2003 for his short stories. He won Prothom Alo Barshoshera Puraskar in 2004 for research work on the rose and Alakto Sahitya Puraskar in 2008 for total literary works. He won the Bangla Academy Award in 2007 for his book ''Bangalir Muktir Gaan''. Abdush Shakoor is a regular contributor to Kolkata's musico-literary magazine ''Milemishe'' and the progressive monthly ''Ekush Shatak''. Of the latter he is also an adviser.
